AN SCREAM BREAKS THE SILENCE

A bloodcurdling shout shattered the thick silence. It echoed across the abandoned hall, causing goosebumps to rise on my back. My heart hammered within its chest as I tried to determine the location of the terrifying sound. Was it a trick? Or was my imagination running amuck in the shadowy stillness? I stood frozen in terror, incapable to respond.
